Women unity
Our Objective
Encourage increased inclusion of South African women, refugees, and asylum seekers in society as well as the advancement of equality of treatment and rights for everyone. Regularly participate at all stages of development and implementation. In general, these are locations where women can connect with others, exchange knowledge and resources, and take advantage of opportunities that have an impact on the lives of migrant and refugee women. Shape and foster through well-established intervention spheres including monetary security, social sustainability, and individual development. Finally, develop action plans that are suited to the particular needs of migrant women.
Accessing the women's unity
Registration for the Women’s Unity is required at the reception.
Our Principles
The Africa Ithemba Network is aware that violence against disparities has a negative impact on migrant women. Racism, gender-neutral immigration laws, a lack of parental support for children’s education, cultural marginalization, and obstacles in the legal, economic, and communication systems are some of these causes.
The Africa Ithemba Network believes that in order to properly respect the human rights of refugee, migrant, and South African women, it is imperative to protect their dignity, integrity, and privacy.
The South African migrant women’s organizations are crucial in aiding migrant women’s integration through information, education, and counseling, and the Africa Ithemba Network is aware of this.
Registration
Please register at the reception desk if you want to join the women’s unit.
Counselling
A 12-week psychosocial program offered by licensed counselors in conjunction with peer counselors who have undergone training, with the option of referral to additional social services if necessary
In order to address the suffering, marginalization, and violence they experience, it is imperative that South African, refugee, and migrant women, as well as survivors of abuse, have access to the resources and platforms they need. Women and victims of abuse need chances to leave their families so they can gain self-confidence, recover from trauma, form wholesome relationships, fit in, and learn more about South Africa’s constitutional framework.
Personal Development training
Women must enroll in a Personal Development training in order to register with the Women’s Unity. This lasts for two weeks, two days a week. It touches on issues including professionalism, integration, and dispute resolution.

What's happening
Gaining self-assurance, fostering strong connections, settling into a new environment, and being aware of women’s rights in South Africa are important because they can influence how women view their rights in their families and in society at large.
The effects of the violence are further exacerbated by xenophobia, a lack of legal status in South Africa, communication barriers, and a lack of knowledge of the services and resources available to assist them. Beyond that, women require assistance in using this information to stand up for both their own and other people’s rights.

Come join us
We need to change the way we see ourselves in the mirror. Women need to take charge and step up.
